Our School

Plantation United Methodist Preschool (PUMP) has provided loving child care and preschool
education to the community for over 60 years.

Started in 1964 , PUMP Is known in our community as a preschool that provides loving Christian education with small class ratios.

Plantation United Methodist Preschool is a ministry of Plantation United Methodist Church. PUMC strives to provide ministry to families in the community by providing quality education, considering the developmental needs of all young children, and encouraging the growth in all areas of development - social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual - as a continuous interrelated process.

Our Programs

School Hours:
7:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Families can select hours that fit best with their schedule

Morning Care : 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

Half Day : 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (VPK half day is until 11:30a.m.)

Extended Day : 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Full School Day : 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Aftercare: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

• Younger Preschool (Infants - 3 years old) is offered as a 5-day program that is year round.

• PreK 3 and VPK are 5-day - a - week school year programs ( August - June ). Summer Camp is offered for this age group.

Younger Preschool

(infants - 3 years)

Our infant through toddler program provides quality childcare in a Christian environment.

We encourage whole child development through daily activities such as indoor and outdoor play, music, stories, and crafts.

Younger preschoolers begin learning numbers, letters, shapes, colors, and Bible stories.

Pre K 3

Children must be 3 years old by September 1 and fully potty trained.

Our three-year-old program emphasizes social development, communication skills, beginning alphabet and numbers, combined with awareness of the world around us through songs, stories, arts and crafts, and more! Students participate in music class weekly.

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)

Children must be 4 years old by September 1.

Our VPK curriculum is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. This program emphasizes pre-reading and math skills, refining of gross and fine motor skills, as well as social development and communication skills. Students participate in music class weekly. Through the extended program, students participate in: STEM activities, Ladybug Lori (science twice a month), and Playball (sports twice a month)

Chapel
All classes participate in Chapel on Wednesdays where they learn a Bible story, sing songs, and learn Bible verses. The younger preschool classes participate in Chapel together led by our preschool staff. The older preschool (PreK3 and VPK) participate in Chapel together led by Mrs. Perdew and the pastors at Plantation United Methodist Church.

Pizza Fridays
Students are able to participate in pizza Fridays

Summer Camp
9:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m., with morning care and aftercare options

Summer Camp is offered for children who are three years old - completed VPK and who are fully potty trained. Current students and children in the community may attend Summer Camp. Call for availability.
